How Mindful Meditation May Help Chronic Pain

Mindfulness can not only keep us calmer and in the present moment, but can also change the shape of our brain and alleviate pain. Erin suffers from pain associated with multiple sclerosis. After practicing mindful meditation for eight weeks, her pain had improved and MRIs revealed actual changes to structures in her brain. These groundbreaking studies show that mindfulness can impact networks in our brain that we previously thought we had no control over.
